why is it that there are no fruit flies around until you cut the fruit, then they sem to come out of nowhere? Do they fly out of the fruit or what?
Where do fruit flies come from?!?!?!?
Hilarious. I agree, they do seem to spontaneously bust out of nowhere. Perhaps there are eggs on the fruit...

It tells you all about the wee bastards!
Reply:What a wonderful question - I have wondered that forever myself. You don't even have to cut the fruit to get them, it just has to be there. My upstairs neighbor had them in some soil he put a houseplant in (granted, he dug it out of the yard) but it was fine at first. Then when you moved it a whole cloud of the things came out. How come I ask. I will be keeping an eye on the answers you get.
Reply:In the Middle Ages, they used to think the flies came from the food. Someone put a glass cover over the food and proved this theory incorrect. We've all been abiding by his findings ever since, once we hear of them.
Of course, in biology class, they'll teach you that fruit flies come from other fruit flies.
Reply:God put hem here
told them to hide in the carpet until smell the sweet stuff
Even my beer.
God gets extra points every time you swear
and and the dancing girls do their thing
PS as babies they fly right through the window screens.
Reply:no they don't come out of the fruit...they are attracted by different fruits and veggies sometimes they come out of your sink drain belive it or not and you may want to dump bleach down the drain once in awhile...a friend of mine had the same problem and that what he told me he did
