I would hang pieces of veggies/fruits with clips in small pieces,or use simple crockery dishes to give them,my Birds prefer it hung up.You can also treat them to foraging with coffee filters, paper towels.Fill with good things, poke a hole and hang, they will eventually get curious if done every day.Try whole grains for them, too,my Birds have never been healthier. No Rubber bands.I just hand twist and hang, with clips.
Reply:trim it down a littel and yes you can
Reply:It's a very good idea, just needs some refining.

Cut that bowl in half so your little birds don't have to get IN the food, and you won't be giving them so much fruit that you need to dump in 8 to 12 hours, so you won't waste as much.

While your at it, cut a small hole, or two, and loop the twistie ties through that and then onto the cage, that way, you have taken away the rubber band, which could potientally be dangerous if they chewed it without your knowledge.
Reply:Looks like an ok idea. Great for one reason, you can throw it away after a couple of months %26amp; replace it. Plastic harbours ecoli which you can't get out of. At least with these ones you can replace them at no expense.

I would probably find bowls that're a little shallower %26amp; keep an eye on the lacky band %26amp; twisty ties. If your budgies start chewing them you might have to find another way to secure them.
