Too much fruit??

ok, so for some reason my mom thinks i'm eating too much fruit

but all i ate today (as far as fruit)

was an apple, and oarange, like, 3 strawberries, and a plum

and i'll probably have one piece of something after dinner

am i really eating too much or is my mommy just a little crazy??

Too much fruit??
If you eat too much its not good for ya no matter what it is but a great portion of fruit is not a bad thing at all. Your mom probably thinks you're not getting meat and all you're doing is eating fruit lol. I wouldn't say crazy more like misunderstood and tell her how you feel about yourself.
Reply:I say that it only seems like a lot if you've eaten a lot of other things too. But if you haven't, then I say that it's okay to do that since fruit is healthy, right?
Reply:Lol! Dont worry i do the same. I kind of went through a stage where like i would die if i didnt have fruit lol. Like one time i had like 3 apples, a cup of strawberries, a banana, an orange, and a pear. (But i didnt get the runs, which was my plan bc i am pretty backed up regulary sadly) But anyways no it is totally fine! That is not that much really because they say that you are suppose to have like 4-6 servings of fruit daily. Keep it up!

She's probably concerned since although fruit is good for you it normally is also rich in calories. If you are a little heavier than you should be try a few less servings of fruit and a few more of veggies... as they are equally as healthy, normally contain more fiber and less calories than your beloved fruit.
Reply:well it's a little over the top. i would stick to about half of that. fruit has natural sugars and if you have too much, it's not as healthy.
Reply:it is a lot, unless spaced out through the day.

remember too much of some fruits makes for long bathroom breaks!

It is somewhat difficult to define what is too much and what is not enough.



The problem with too much fruit is the lack of Vitamin B12, a bacterial product, it is not found in any fruits, sources of vitamin B12 are limited to foods that come from animals.



Like vegans, fruitarians (this is the name given to people who just eat fruit) need to include a B12 supplement in their diet.



Fruitarian's, when discussing food, the term "fruit" usually refers to just those plant fruits that are sweet and fleshy (for example, plums, apples, and oranges).



Botanically, though, some foods not typically considered fruits -- including bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, nuts and grains -- are fruits



This is a non-trivial problem for fruitarians because the most common non-animal source of B12 supplements is yeast, which is a fungus.



At the end is a site you may like to visit. I do not advicate that you take up this type of life style as it is very difficult to maintain a balanced diet and some fruits will be very high in sugars.

Remember to eat whole fruits instead of juice most of the time. Fruit juices don't have the fiber of whole fruits. Fiber will keep you feeling full longer.



Also to much fiber can cause very loose bowel movments and a high level of flatulance, which will lead you to find out who your real friends are.

Reply:That is super. Did she mean you aren't eating enough of other things? Make sure you eat veggies, too, and don't forget the nuts and beans if you aren't eating meat!
Reply:if you get the runs than it could be too much......but its better to over endulge in fruit than candy and soda!! so tell ur mom to chill :)
