Reply:A balanced diet is for a balanced metabolism, which you do not have. You don't need the sugar, but you do need the vitamins and the fiber. Look for substitutes for both (whole grain foods, One A Day, etc.)
Reply:you should drink lots of water when you eat the fruit not to get to technical but water will make you urinate and the sugar from the fruit will be released
Reply:Eat small amounts.

Reply:As a type 2 diabetic you need to be aware of how much carbohydrate you are consuming. Yes, fruit (and fruit juices) does contain carbohydrate (fructose).

However, you should eat fruit and vegetable as part of a healthy diet. A dietitian / diabetes health adviser will provide you with guidelines for how to balance your dietary requirements in the light of your diabetes. They will consider your current weight, age, level of activity etc and can answer any other questions you may have related to all foods containing carbohydrate.
Reply:ASK YOUR DOCTOR!
Reply:No, you should have fruits in your diet.

I am also type 1.5 diabetes.

You should require your doctor to see a dietitian who works with the American Diabetes Association

(Canadian Diabetes Association - if you are canadian)

The diatitian will give you a chart how to eat properly, and how much sugar (carbohydrate) you can intake per meal.

Being diabetic, you can eat everything like normal non-diabetic people, but knowing the amount of carb is what you should learn about.
Reply:Fruit is extremely high in sugar. My dad has type 2 diabetes and he cannot eat fruit.

I'm sorry.

Though, if you don't know that you shouldn't eat fruit, you should perhaps consult your doctor about what you can and cannot eat, lest all sorts of health problems arise.
