Raspberry fruit spread instead of jam?

I want to make mini linzer tarts and have everything to make them except for raspberry jam- I only have raspberry fruit spread (the kind that has no added sugar) and wondered if they would come out right. I know that regular jam melts and makes a shiny glaze over the tarts so I wasn't sure if the fruit spread would look or taste the same? Anyone know?

I don't care what you use, it sounds good, I'll be over shortly!!
Reply:if it tastes like raspberries then it will taste the same.
Reply:Add sugar to you ''fruit spread'' to ensure success.

:)
Reply:try to use sugar just it taste sweet. it will taste great!!!
Reply:sound delicious.

i agree with everyone that you should make it much more decorative and tasty by adding sugar or directly buying the jam. see wats xmas for. decorations and delicacies. so you should do just that and a very merry happy christmas
Reply:I agree with Lance. Add some sugar to taste. See if you can fine the "superfine" type of sugar so that it won't feel "grainy" in the mouth in case it does not sufficiently melt. That would depend upon the time in the oven %26amp; temperature of the oven. Or, you could just heat up the fruit spread with the sugar in the microwave or stovetop until the sugar melts. Just check to be certain it didn't change the flavor any. I'm sure they'll be delicious!
