Is eating fruit at night ok?

I am currently watching my weight. I have a set calorie limit everyday and excersise for 50 minutes 5-7 times a week, but i have heard that too many carbs at an inactive time of the day can be a bad deal for those trying to lose weight. Some fruit can have alot of carbs but i crave apples at night. If eaten within my calorie limit will fruit keep the weight on if eaten at night?

Is eating fruit at night ok?
Depends what kind of fruit.

They say bananas are good for you, they keep your hunger at bay and provide a slow release of energy, that's very well but not great when you're planning to stop moving soon when you go to bed. Avoid starchy things that will take a long time to break down, bananas, UNRIPE apples etc. These can be compared to the carbs in bread. But the carbs in fruit are much not harmful to your weightloss goals (unless you're on some kind of low carb diet) so you need not be concerned.

I don't exactly know what you mean by "at night" but if you're meaning right before bed you're better off eating vegetables than fruit, and if you do eat fruit try ones that are mostly water, melon for example would be excellent.

Eating fruit at night is not a bad idea though, it's actually a good idea. Just definitely stay away from bananas too soon to bedtime.

If you are just maintaining your weight it should be fine. Apples are pretty good just don't have too much (calorie wise, no more than 300 at once) Are you craving the sugar?

With all that exercise you're doing and staying within your calorie range don't worry about it.
Reply:Ya, fruit is good, just dont eat too much! Report It
Reply:It's fine.
Reply:if you have not eaten all your calories you needed to eat, than its ok to eat them anytime, although people say its harder to burn them the later it gets. If your hungry, and all ur calories are gone, eating fruit is not the worst thing u could be eating, go for it.
Reply:its fine as long as you are under your base metabolic calorie rate.

Reply:Funny, I just ate an apple..look at it this way, apples really get things going in the morning, so it probably evens out.
Reply:yeah furit doesnt really have any fat in it.
Reply:It depends on how late you are talking about. Don't eat any fruit at least 3 hours before bed.
