Canned fruit cocktail in heavy syrup not healthy?

I just bought some canned Safeway fruit cocktails in heavy syrup, i was surprised by the nutrition contents on there.



Vitamin A 4%

Vitamin C 2%

Calcium 0%

Iron 0%



Im mean its a can of fruit, how can it have such little nutrition value?



Ok dont give me answers like canned food has preservatives that are not good for you, i just want to know where did all the nutrition went.

The fruit absorbs the sugar in the syrup and loses its nutritional value. The best advice I can give you is either chop up your own fruit or buy the fruit in cans that is stored with fruit juice instead of syrup =]
Reply:don't get the heavy syrup get the light or the pair juice
Reply:definitely not... try to eat fresh fruit instead but if you must eat the canned stuff skip the syrupy part.
Reply:Full of sugar and very fattening regardless of containing fruit.
