Tomato, fruit or veggie?

You know how it is a fruit, but many consider it a veggie? Well, my question is when these diets say you can eat all the fruit or all the veggies you want where does the tomato fall?

Dietarily it fall under vegetable. Biologically it is a fruit, specifically a berry. However, dietary guidlines usually distinguish fruits and vegetables based on sugar content.
Reply:Why is this a problem. It is a fruit so it falls in the fruit catagory.
Reply:a little of the topic of a tomato... but the best way to be healthy and maintain a healthy weight is to eat a balanced diet. Dont completely cut out a group of foods or only eat one type of food. while it is great to eat heaps of fruit and veg, our bodies need varity.. Hope this helps : )

The US Supreme Court declared it to be a vegetable in 1893 (so they could continue to charge a tax on its importation).



For all practical puproses the tomato is a vegetable, since that's how it's most often used.
Reply:It's a fruit. But it's sexual preferences really don't matter.
