Is coconut a fruit or nut?

before you say 'duhh its a nut, coco-NUT' it doesnt taste like any other nut. it tastes like a fruit! its the fruit of a palm tree, but yer, is it really a fruit? how good for u is it?

Culinarilly speaking, it is both a fruit and a nut. If you want to define it in strictly botanical terms, then it is a nut. Coconuts are very high in fat. Eating them in moderation is healthy.
