Help Fruit Flies!!!!!!!!!?
So, here is a simple method to eliminate fruit flies from your residence.
Find a cup, mug, glass, etc, and put it out near the source of fruit flies
Pour an inch or two deep of the following household items in it: Wine, Orange Juice, Vinegar, and a dash of dish soap
Success! Fruit flies are going to fall in love with the smell of the concoction, will fly into it, and be unable to escape because of the soap. They will drown, and you will no longer be bothered.
Back to How to Get
Reply:Vacuuming is a good way as well as taking your garbage outside, however, you will need to disinfect the area in which you found the fruit as well as the trash can(wash it out real good)!!
Reply:put a dish on the counter w/ vinegar and dish detergent. They will be attracted to the odor and drown in the bowl.
Reply:Try cleaning area with pine cleaner,it seems to discorage them and repeat sevral times,if they don't leave call a profestional, since one fly can produce 30 to 40 eggs in a very short time (days) .
Reply:O.k I'm a chef and had to deal with these spiteful little bastards before. They love water and any decaying vegetable matter tea bags etc. You need to make sure there are no damp sponges towels or rags (put them all in a sealed container ice cream tub or sealed freezer bag.) Stop all dripping taps make sure that the sink is dry when you have finished they only live for a day or two so if they cant breed on anthing wet they will die out fast. Also they are all alcoholics so get a glass filled with beer and a little washing up liquid in the event of nothing to eat or to have sex on they will go on the lash and die in a soapy pool of beer lovely. Remember no water = no fruit flies its that easy they breed to fast for flie spray to work on them.
Reply:make sure your trash has been taken outside, and you don't have any other pieces of fruit lying around..but the fruit flys will just go away with time..
you could try some dishsoap and water tho, that seems to really help if you can see where they were, if anything put a fan in the room where they are and blow them out... lol
but like I said, the'll go away with time
Reply:Vacuum them up! That's what I did. Vacuum the area really, really well where you found the fruit.
Reply:Open a window, vacuum, turn on a fan, turn out all the lights and get them to go to another light outside. I had so many one time it was like a scene from a horror movie. I just opened the window and they all left. Whew!
