Does fruit have any nutrients that aren't in vegetables?

Dietary guidelines advise us to eat 5 serves of vegetables and 2 serves of fruit per day. Is there any reason why we need fruit, or would 7 serves of vegetables be equivalent?

This isn't quite an answer to your question, but it does fall into needing to know what fruits do have nutrients. I recently found out that the eggplant, a fruit I personally love, is a berry and it has absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever. Amazing. Big freakin' berry huh?
Reply:depends on the fruit or vegetable. They probably suggest that because theres more sugar in fruit
