I read in a health mag that you should not eat more than one type of fruit at a time and eat them 30mins apart, but im here eating a fruit salad....with 8 types of fruit in it. Is this mag right or wrong?
Question on fruit?
I have read, but I don't know where, that some fruits, such as orange, slow down the absorption of the nutrients in other foods.
I guess eating separately would be a way of being miserly with your nutrients, and getting the full value from each fruit.
But hey, I say live it up, eat 8 fruits at the same time,
you're worth it.
Reply:Enjoy the salad - don't believe everything you read.
Reply:I've never heard that you shouldn't mix fruit! Probably one of those bizarre haywire diets. I wouldn't worry about it - enjoy your fruit salad!
Reply:well every fruit has special enzymes so maybe they are suppressing each other
Reply:I would be VERY skeptical about that health advice.
Reply:Its wrong! There is no reason one can not eat more than one fruit at a time. More information on the article and its context would be helpful in understanding why they made that statement.
There are occasions when fruit such as grapefruit do not mix with certain medicines.
Reply:wrong, eat fruit when ever you like, and mixing fruits is A-OK.
Reply:I think that the health magazine maybe taking things to the extreme. Fruit does have quite a bit of sugar and that is why they said that, but if you are eating it in moderation, more than one type of fruit is not harmful to you.
Reply:I cant see anything bad about it, I'd sy the mag is wrong. there are offcourse some fruit combinations that are worse for your teeth though.
We've all taken multi vitamin pills at some point, cant be worse than that!
Reply:Tell me which health mag is this. Eat your fruit salad it wont killl ya.
Reply:One type at a time? 30 mins apart? I eat fruit salad all the time. I have never heard that. I think they were just out of things to say to make their column length so they added a bunch of bull!! Eat your fruit and be happy!!
