I recently started reexperiencing the joys of jello (there's always room for it, isn't there?). And I was wondering what everybody's favorite flavor was and how they like it (with fruit or not, etc.). Please, nothing inappropriate, and nothing using acohol and/or drugs.
Jello. Fruit or no fruit? Favorite Flavor?
Cherry Jello with Mandarin Oranges.
Reply:~~~ A favorite Jello recepie my mom used to make! 1 lg box rasberry jello (use 1/4th less water when makeing jello), 1 can fruit coctail, one can "whole" cranberries, refridgerate. About an hour before its truley setteled,,,,add chopped walnuts and lots of mini marshmellows,,,,makes for a great colorfull holiday desert,,or even a lite side dish for a cool afternoon lunch.....its fruity,,,crunchy,,,,tastey,,,,,
Reply:strawberry---no fruit---but a little whipped cream on top
Reply:I like strawberry jello pie.
You mix 8oz of dreamwhip with the already made jello (one small box) and pour it into a graham cracker crust and put in the frig atout 4 hours. You can add some real strawberries to it...yum. It's heavy and fattening so go easy on it.
Reply:Perfect for the holidays:
Box of Jell-o
Dissolved, as usual, but in only one cup boiling water. Actually, for best results, one cup minus one tablespoon.
Set in fridge until the mixture is cooled completely, but don't allow it to thicken and set.
Place in blender with exactly one cup (8 oz) of your choice of the following (choose one)
Plain yogurt, for a very light texture
Flavored yogurt, for a sweet and moderately heavy texture
Light sour cream, for an in between texture
Regular sour cream, for the hearty appetite
(I recommend Stonyfield Farm organic non-fat Vanilla yogurt)
Blend completely, place in a decorative dish, or in a mold spritzed lightly with a non-stick spray for easy removal.
Decorate the top with mandarin oranges.
With patience, you can layer parfait glasses with a variety of flavors and colors for festive occasions. Just make sure that each layer is completely set before adding the next one.
Reply:I make a quick jello salad it is pretty good, at least I think so.
you take a package of peach jello and a tub 16oz of cottage cheese and a tub of coolwhip and you mix it together. It tastes just like icecream. You can also add any kind of fruit to it that you like. Have fun!
Reply:cherry jello w/ sliced banana's
Reply:My favorite Jello has always been cherry, but I'd like to try the lemon or lime for something different. I'm not too sure about the fruit.. hmm, I'd try it though. Sense its the 4th of July, maybe make a layered Jello platter with Cherry Jello with cherries in it, then blue rasperry jello with blueberries in it. You can top it with cool-whip and fresh cut up strawberries or cherries and blueberries.
Reply:Yah! I love jello! Its so weird and blob-ish. I haven't had one with fruit in it, so i cant say i dont like it. i like lots of flavors. i havent had jello in a while so i dont really remember my fav flavors.
Reply:Here's my favorite recipe I learned at KHS from my teacher. Your use a small package each of lemon and orange Jello and mix them up. Later when they are half-way congealed, add 1-2 cups shredded carrots and a small can of drained crushed pineapple. The pineapple cannot be fresh. It must always be cooked first. Fold in carrots and pineapple and congeal and serve. It can also be made into individual serving molds and served on a bed of lettuce with a dollop of mayo on top of it. It is fantastic on a hot summer's day.
Reply:Lime with fruit and whipped cream or "Cool Whip" on top.
Reply:The old stand by Strawberry and fresh bananas.I been eating and enjoying them for years..
Reply:Lime jello, add 1 c boiling water to dissolve...let cool down a bit, then stir in an 8-oz tub of 'Pina Colada' yoghurt and a tablespoon of real mayo. Stir until well blended, then throw in a drained can of mandarin oranges. Good salad thing and E-Z to put together.
Lime jello, make with usual boiling and then cold waters, stir in finely minced celery and finely shredded carrots...and just a splash of Worcestershire sauce and some garlic salt. Good go-with salad for a heavier meal that needs a sweet touch. We have it for Thanksgiving [using a fancy mold and if someone feels inspired, a pastry-tube squeeze of softened cream cheese--designer squiggles].
Reply:i like jello without fruit.
my favourite flavour is strawberry.
Reply:strawberry jello with a scoop of vanilla/coconut ice cream and caramel sauce
Reply:Orange or mango tango...fantastic!
My daughter had her wisdom teeth out on Tuesday so we have been rediscovering the joys of jelly (jello) again.
Yum - with cream and/or ice cream.
Have you tried making flummery using jelly crystals and hot milk? Check the website below.
Reply:I like all flavors of jello, no fruit in it though
Reply:grape jello love it
Reply:WOW!! That's a blast from the past!!
All kinds of Jello is good. I would have to say my favorite is raspberry.
Do you know of the "Jello 1,2,3" of the 1970's? That was a family favorite. I wish they would bring that back. The orange flavor was awesome!!
Reply:PEACH JELLO - with peach slices
WATERMELON JELLO - no fruit (add ginger ale instead of water)
Reply:Hi Brian! I am not sure why, but I just dislike Jello. I guess if I did have a recipe that really made it taste good that would be different but I've really never tasted one that wanted me to actually make it myself! But I am glad to see that all of you here do like it!
Reply:I'm not wild about Jello because it's mostly artificial flavoring, coloring and sugar, but I find it tolerable with either cottage cheese or cream cheese whipped up in it.
Reply:I like all flavors specially with mandarins inside.
Reply:jello is great. i love strawberry and cherry. its always good with a little whip cream. i dont like fruit in mine.
Reply:I love fruit in jello. We put just a can of mixed fruit in or bananas. I love lime jello or sparkling grape juice jello!
Reply:Blue berry jello with marshmellows - the colored kind...and I add flavored soda in lieu of the cold water.....
****Word of warning****
When doing the fruit thing, if you add pineapple only, it does not gel right....
Reply:Flummery. Chill one 400ml tin of evaporated milk for at least 24 hours in fridge. Next day, make up a packet of your favourite flavour of Jello but with only half the water, then cool in fridge until it is the consistency of egg whites. Whip the chilled evaporated milk until it has at least doubled in volume (I do this in the food processor), then pour the half-set Jello in slowly and continue whipping until it is blended in thoroughly. Pour into a large ring mould or individual little portions, refrigerate until set.
Reply:love it. always have....i like it with and without. My fave is orange flavor with Mandarin orange slices....topped with whipped topping like cool whip or whip creme...um mm.
