Do Fruit Flies Bite?

Do fruit flies bite? I ask this question because I have noticed that there are a few fruit flies still lingering around my garbage bin after we removed all the garbage...and I squashed one between my hands...and there was a tiny dot of bright red blood on my hand...I was just wondering if that was blood from one of them biting me, or if it is there blood. Thank you!

Do Fruit Flies Bite?
neither the fruit flies bite any1 nor there blood is not red. i think it's not a blood but just a red liquid.
Reply:no thy would prolly die if they sucked blood....
Reply:nope
Reply:No! I don't think so! But they are not very good to have in your house. Blech!
Reply:nah they eat fruit not us lol the blood would have been from the fly, arn't they bloody annoying little things!!
Reply:no..they only fly
Reply:I have to disagree with the other answers. In my experience, a fruit fly is an immature regular fly! They can bite, as they grow bigger and become the common fly that we all know and hate.

I believe the larva is left on the fruit, and comes into the home that way.

COME ON BUG PEOPLE, ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!!!
Reply:Hey a fruit fly does not bite, but it does sting you like a bee would, but its not sore and cannot harm you in anyway
