Are fruit/nuts better for you than Doritos??

I bought some fruit and nuts from the frito lay dispay at the grocery store thinking that I was making a healthy choice. As I read, I see that the calories, fat and fiber are all comparable. The only real difference is the sodium is much higher on the Doritos. Are the fruit/nuts really a healthier choice?? Why??

Are fruit/nuts better for you than Doritos??
well doritos have alot of calories in them and doctors say that calories give u energy but they also make u blow up.my advice is de fruits and nuts.fruits have alot of protien and not that many calories.GO WITH DE FRUITS %26amp; NUTS
Reply:yes the fruit and nuts are healthier as long as they are fresh and not processed. they are healthier because they have protein and vitamins in them that help your body. if something doesn't have protein and vitamins in it( like Doritos) it automatically works against your body making it worse then fruit and nuts.
Reply:Yes. Nuts have essential fatty acids that are great for you. Doritos are manufactured, stripped of any nutrients. Essentially it is just chemicals that do nothing but make you fat. The fat in chips are not healthy at all. Stick with nuts, but don't eat too much or it will make you fat and not be healthy for you. A handful a day is good.
Reply:huh. well my first choice was to say they where but when i read the rest im not so sure. i dont know if maybe frito lay puts extra stuff in the fruit and nuts, maybe try a different brand. =D

He seems to have the saavy for the truth about your decision...
Reply:there are 2 kinds of fats, saturated and unsaturated.

saturated = bad

unsaturated = good

nuts = unsaturated fats

doritos = saturated fats

therefore,

nuts = good

doritos = bad

And as far as fruits go, fruits are packed with good stuff to help you keep your figure, or, if neccesary, lose weight

hope that helps!
Reply:they are a healthier choice because they provide many of the nutrients that your body needs whereas Doritos don't. Fruits have vitamins and such. Both fruit and nuts do not have preservatives or unnatural ingredients such as yellow #50 (or whatever) that can hurt your system. Fruits and nuts may have the same calories and such but overall they are beneficial in other ways that Doritos aren't.
Reply:Thats a lie. Doritos covers the 3 main food groups -

fried

crispy

spicy
Reply:Fruits and Nuts are much better, they're natural without many of the preservative and processing which are in your bag of Doritos. Additionally, there are tremendous amounts of vitamins and minerals, and beneficial fats which are in nuts which can't be found as easily elsewhere.

If it leaves orange powder on your fingers, don't eat it!
Reply:Depends on the type of fat you are talking about
Reply:Go with the fruit. Trail Mixes are great.

Although they may contain preservatives they provide natural sugars and all else for the body. Eating fruit instead of eating candy can still give your body the 'natural' things it needs. Including sugars and vitamins. Doritos are 50% fake.
