What fruit tree can grown indoor?

I live in an apartment in New England.

Is there any fruit tree I will be able to grow indoor in a container?

I am hoping the tree will survived from the hard and long winter here and hopfully have couple of fruit after couple of years.

thank you

What fruit tree can grown indoor?
I live in MD and have several fruit trees that I season during the winter indoors. I have a miniture orange, lime, and lemon and Qumquat. These bloom and fruit every year - have done so since a young age. I also have a dwarf pomegrante that I season inside during the winter.

We do not have the heat above 65F in the house during the winter when we are home (it's at 60 when we're not home) and the plants are mainly in a sideroom with no radiators.

There are numerous on-line plant sites that have these: Gurneys (http://gurneys.com) and SpringHill (http://springhillnursery.com) are two that I'm familiar with.

Good light, a good size pot, and not allowing the plant to dry out during the winter is the key. Good luck!
Reply:Some citrus trees do well indoors, but you must have heat and a lot of light. Many are grown in a sunroom or conservatory.
Reply:I once kept a small fruited orange for about a decade in SE Indiana. I got enough fruit to make a poor marmalade, but the fragrance of the flowers was worth all the trouble. How did it die? Cat pee.
Reply:Avocado seeds here's how:

1. Eat the avocado. Be careful when removing the seed so that you do no put any cuts in the seed. From my experience, it doesn't matter what type of avocado you go for. I bought the one I used the first time at Safeway!

2. Wash all of the avocado remnants from the seed

3. Poke three toothpicks into the side of the seed so that it can perch, halfway immersed in water, on the rim of your container. Set the seed with its base (the wider portion) down.

4. The seed will germinate within a few months (or sooner if you live in a warm climate). The water should be changed at least every couple of weeks, before it gets dirty and depleted of oxygen

5. Pot your tree into a container with soil. When you have substantial roots, and the tree has started growing out of the top of the seed, you should replant the seed into soil. Just get some ordinary potting soil and a relatively large container. A pot with 8-12" diameter should do the trick.

6. Plant the tree. Plant the seed so that about half of it is underground.

7. Harvest your Crop! (*note - may take 3-4 years :)

Avocado trees can grow up to 65 feet in the ground and are a manageable house plant and can be grown in doors in pots and if the leaves start to turn yellow this means over watering and if the leaves are turning brown this means under watering.
Reply:citrus fruits
Reply:Lemon tree. It probably wouldn't produce much fruit though.
Reply:Someone in my family had a lemon tree that did really well indoors. She used the fruit for her iced tea. I thought it was really cool.
