Okay.... canned fruit in 100% juice... just as good as eating it fresh (or at least close)?

I have been getting canned fruit that is in 100% fruit juice with no sugar added.

For example, I have a can of pineapple slices that is 100% pineapple juice with no sugar added.

I was still wary but the ingredients are:

"pineapple, pineapple juice, water, and clarified pineapple juice concentrate."

It also says 'no preservatives' on it.

I know people say that canned fruit isn't good for you but I don't see the problem with this... what do you all think?

The only difference is that it won't have as many vitamins as fresh. However keep in mind that when fresh fruit is evaluated it hasn't sat in storage, been shipped, sat again and then sold. So its really about the same. Canned pineapple will be missing a natural digestive enzyme that is destroyed by cooking but it is still just as healthy otherwise.
Reply:There's nothing wrong with canned fruit in fruit juice. Don't, however, drink much, if any, of the juice as you're getting a lot of natural sugar and calories in that. Just eat the fruit.
Reply:i dont know much bout that. but i can tell u that it is healthier to eat fresh fruits. i dont each canned fruits cuz they probably have more calories. also, fresh fruits can be counted on to give u wut u need. plus sumtimes they over exagerate. caanned goods are better for using in fancy meals. but 4 n everyday thing, ur better off eating fresh foods.
Reply:NO....the canned has more vitamins in it,....when you eat a fresh fruit ...it has less juice in it than in the can.....u see concentrate means that they have collected thousands of pineapples..and then selectively taken what they needed..like vitamin A, C, E..and then put it in your juice....but fresh is always better
Reply:Don't eat anything canned- just always stick with fresh.
