Does fruit cause weight gain?

I love fruit, but I do know it contains a lot of sugar. Will fruit cause weight gain?

Does fruit cause weight gain?
not at all... weight gain depends on calories in/calories out. fruit does not have many calories, so it is fine!
Reply:Yes and no.

There is fruit sugar in it - fructose, but how is it any different from eating a whack of junk food? Really, there's no difference that way, but if you consider the nutrients and fiber you get from fruit that you won't get from a chocolate bar, you are ahead of the game.

So, have some fruit, but not too much, and balance it with proteins and some fats (not all fats are bad). Remember to keep active as well, so you burn off any excess calories that might cause weight gain.

Everything in moderation! ;)
Reply:if eaten to excess-the same as any food type!

fruit is good for you as is has vits an mins-but it also has calories-so dnt eat lots of it thinkin tht they are calorie free-u still have to count them 2ward ur daily intake!

also 2much fruit is bad for ur teeth as it has citric acid which erodes enamel!

try and eat more veg an salad intead

so say u have 1-2 portions of friut a day- a salad-then a few portions of veg wiv ya dinner-a perfect balance!
Reply:Unfortunately, yes. You'll be better off eating salads and sandwiches.
Reply:not all of them
