The thing is, i have a puppy and a turtle. Both co-exist in the backyard, although i sometimes bring the puppy in.
I feed the turtle fruit, like papaya, melon, tomatoes... The pup always tries to eat it. I have always removed the left over fruit that the turtle doesn't eat, but i'm wondering... if my pup ever eats any, is it bad for her?
Is fruit toxic to puppies?
i don't know about toxic, if its edible for you or turtle should be OK for pup, but too much will result in stomach upset, and the results will be messy!
my dog eats apples, bananas, grapes, and watermelon, and loads of veg, she is fine!, now aged 6, healthy!
obviously i mean in small amounts, :)...and not all at once :)
Reply:The only thing edible that I know is very bad for canines is chocolate. I understand it can kill them. But fruit ? Why would it be ?
Reply:It's not bad for her, but I would stick to dog food. :)
Reply:We don't eat most fruit seeds so a little fruit flesh shouldn't hurt our companion animals.
Reply:Grapes / raisins are toxic to dogs of all ages.
All other fruit should be OK.
Reply:All I know is that raisons and grapes can kill dogs. So watch out. Or you should bring the puppy inside while you feed your turtle outside.
Reply:Apples are fine just no core or seeds they are toxic to dogs. Tomatoes are ok just not to many. Melon is fine not the rind. I don't know about Papaya you can google that.
.
Reply:Some fruits are toxic, and so are the pits and cores of some fruits. Some can be deadly. Do a search on toxic to dogs, and see what comes up.

Reply:No its not toxic . their stomach just dosent have the acids to digest it.
Reply:grapes and raisins [duh] are
its okay to feed them those things once in a while
its GOOD for her %26lt;3
um no dude^^ apples have cores and seeds and are probably the best fruit for ur dog also carrots
apples and carrots are GREAT for ur dog
do some research some fruit maybe bad for them but i doubt it
Reply:Grapes can cause kidney failure in dogs!!..... I don't know about any other fruits..
Reply:Melons and grapes are. I haven't met a dog though that liked tomatoes. Anyway grapes are like chocolate very toxic and can kill small dogs. Melons aren't so toxic but they aren't good for them. Many plants are toxic too. Lilly's are deadly. So are yuckka plants. Apples and carrots and peas are wonderful for dogs. They are included in many dog foods ie Beniful.
Reply:some might be. be aware of fruits with big cores and seeds.
Reply:not all good for babies bout no problem to feed them it
Reply:Puppies cant eat grapes but i think they can eat any other fruit!! I wouldnt leave my dog in the backyard but thats your choice not mine.
Reply:All human food can be toxic to puppies but I personally not give them fruit. I would give them cooked meat. And very very little of that. Because you want your dog to stay on dog food only really 'cause thats about the best diet for them
Reply:Nope. It is okay.
Reply:Certain foods are not necessarily good for the puppy. I asked a question a while ago concerning this and got a radical bunch of answers. Some really scared me and some were so stupid it was pathetic. Do some research on the net and find out what is ok and what is not. Dogs are carnivorous but they can still benefit from certain fruits and veggies but can also have negative effects from others.
