Fruit scare!?

I'm currently around 8 weeks pregnant, don't know for sure but have a scan in 4 weeks to tell for sure. But i was reading through my booklets the other night that the midwife gave me and came across a booklet about cat litter and fruit and the causes. I read that with fruit you must wash it before you eat it. Well here's the thing..i had some strawberries the other day and a couple of weeks back, and i did'nt think to wash them. Will only a few hurt my baby or is it okay but don't do it again? I did'nt have a whole pot of strawberries, just a couple! Is my baby okay?

Do i need to call the doctor?

Fruit scare!?
The strawberries are fine. No problem.

People in the medical field like to give you worst scenario cases.

Cat litter is only bad if your'e EATING the stuff, if you have a cat that goes out doors, and if you're leaving it to sit for more than 48 hours.

While some fruits can have some chemicals on them, there isn't enough to do any damage.

You come into contact with more chemicals when you fill up the gas tank of your car.
Reply:You're baby is fine...don't worry. It is possible to get sick from not washing fruits and veggies, but you would have already been sick by now. Just make sure to wash everything first. There is no need to call the doctor about it. If you do have a cat, it is very important not to change the litter box, too.
Reply:your baby is fine, they just recommend that you wash them before you eat them...the strawberries are most likely washed at the store where you bought them anyway they would probably just be healthier for you if you washed them before you ate them
Reply:The worst that can happen is you might get sick, if your not sick already your fine.

Your always supposed to wash your fruits and stuff before you eat silly no matter pregnant or not.
Reply:everything is fine. You would become sick before anything happened to your baby.
Reply:some fruit comes already wash but for the health of ur baby u can wash them if u want it would be much more healthier for u....and u are fine...
Reply:you should be fine as long as you now continue to wash all your fruits and veg before eating!
Reply:i never washed fruit when i was pregnant and i have a healthy baby dont worry
Reply:Yes you should wash all your fruits and veggies..i use natural cleaners;hydrogen peroxide and vinegar. spray them down wait a couple mins and rub them then wash them off... reason being you wash them is because most of the produce you buy anymore is from other countries which dont have health laws, so when they pee or ****, they dont wash thier hands and they still handle food. Even some produce grown in the united states, they get illegal mexicans to pick and they are so gross that they dont wash thier nasty hands and they go out and crap in them fields.

How do I know? I live in Southwest Georgia, illegal mexicans pick the crops here.
Reply:Calm down, sugar. Our bodies are more virile than we think! A little dirt on strawberries never took out a baby, I'm sure. Sadly, we are more at risk for what we chomp on than our moms were due to pesticides. From now on, just wash all fruits and veggies, including the ones you peel like bananas, and wash your hands consistently after handling any cat litter, meats, dog toys, etc...the normal we should do anyway, just more aware when we have a bun in the oven.

Don't bother the doc, yet, you have 7 months to harass him/her! LOL! Best wishes to you, sugar!
