Bowl of fruit salad vs big warm fried jam donut. which would u pick ? be honest please.?

don't just say the fruit salad cos you wanna come across as all 'healthy' and stuff, unless of course you ARE an avid lover of fruit salads. Its just that on campus, the kids who are health fanatics gave me funny looks when I walked towards a table with a nice fresh donut on my tray - almost like 'god, all thats going straight into this bloodstream , ack so unhealthy' heh.



surely its my god given right to enjoy a donut over a fruit salad right ? i mean, its tastier...

I am trying to eat healthy. I would pick the fruit, but would prefer the pastry.
Reply:I would pick the fruit salad and not cause I am a health nut. I just don't like donuts!! But, if you like them, go for the donut!!
Reply:I like hot donuts but don't eat them often, hadn't had one for years, now you've made me want one!
Reply:You're not looking at the big picture. Eventually your food choices wil catch up with you.

When i was a kid my mom foced health food on me. I ate brown bread, had cod liver oil supplements, and wheat germ in my orange juice in the morning. I was slim and and strong.

I left my parents home and immediately started eating junk food. It didn't take long for me to become overweight and lethargic.

I'm 43 now and have diabetes. The diabetes has caused my kidneys to fail. I have dialysis 3 times a week, four hours a session.

So my answer is definetly the fruit salad. Not because I want to come across as healthy, (it's too late for that) but because I know first-hand how poor food choices can end up screwing up your life.
Reply:yes its your right to chose what you eat but I would go for the fruit salad to be honest.
Reply:I would eat both for sure! Jam donut with fruit salad. Its a win win situation.

Reply:honestly, i'd pick the fruit salad. i'm not a health nut, but i am a vegan (long story short i'm picky as hell about what i eat and i break out just looking at anything with preservatives/animal products etc).



if i knew for a fact the donut had absolutely no animal products in it then i'd pick it.... unless the fruit salad had lots of strawberries and watermelon in it cos i adore them and they win out every time ;)
Reply:I think that eating both, first the fruit salad and then the donut, is a great idea.
Reply:Listen, of course the eye glazes first at the Donut because of its looks, and taste. But me myself i would go for the fruit salad because i always try to watch over my weight, and fruits dont stick into the body like a donut does. For exaple, lets just say right now you have a donut in front of you, you will say to yourself, 'gosh i dont care about my weight at this momment because that looks delicious' and you'll eat it... and the next morning when you wake up you wont taste the donut anymore and know that you have this big thingin your stomach, when you could have just not eaten it and the next morning be proud of yourself and say yes! i was strong and didnt eat it! well thats my point of view :)
